Meet Rob - Director & Master of Flavours
As the head of product development and recipe innovation, Rob brings his European heritage and decades of experience in the butchering industry to the table. With a keen eye for detail and a passion for the craft, Rob takes great pride in his work.
He is intimately acquainted with every ingredient that goes into each product and employs innovative techniques, including in-store smoke-oven, to develop unique flavors. The only problem? Getting him to take a break from perfecting his craft.
Meet Rose - Director & Account Manager
Rose is an invaluable partner in the business, balancing her role as a wife and mother of four with her responsibilities as an account manager and director. Her extensive background in accounting has allowed her to manage the company's finances since its inception in 1984.
Rose is committed to ensuring a systematic approach, and that our accounts are all in order to ensure seamless daily operations. This is particularly crucial during the busy Christmas season where we process nearly 500 orders in a very short time frame.
Meet Joe
Often mistaken as one of the Perry family, he is essential to the future of Casalinga and the brand.
Joe began with the team as an apprentice, arriving from the lush farming region of Flinders Island. Graduating his apprenticeship in 2019, and now operating the store as second in charge, he understands the significance of maintaining quality from paddock to plate, especially when working with the finest Tasmanian produce. Joe is committed to continuous learning and development, which includes refining his skills in smallgoods craftsmanship and recipe development under the guidance of Rob.
Meet Matt
Matt brings a wealth of experience with his traditional butchering skills to our team, and is a vital to our paddock-to-plate offering.
We stand true to our corner store butchery beginnings by ordering carcasses from our local farmers and relying on Matt to work with his knife skills to provide you with the best cuts, this also means we can cut to order - a rarity these days! While shy to begin with, he loves interacting with our customers and is always happy to provide advice on the best Tasmanian meat cuts for your meal plans.
Meet Katrina
Katrina has over ten years of experience working in kitchens or as a deli assistant and certified in meat processing.
Her wealth of knowledge makes her the perfect go-to person for cooking tips and meal ideas. With her unwavering attention to detail towards providing quality products and customer service, Katrina ensures the team meet the expectations of both our retail customers, and our wholesale customers receiving orders directly.
Meet Jamie
Jamie brings an essence of fun and laughter to the team, which is a core part to our team efforts in delivering you a positive customer experience, both in our store and over the phone.
Focused on our retail front of house, Jamie will work with the team to ensure you leave our store with a smile and a delicious meal to look forward to.
Our Producers -A Unique Philosophy of collaboration to achieve quality
Our customers frequently rave about the flavour of our products, which is what sets us apart from competitors.
We take pride in overseeing the entire production process, from working with registered Tasmanian farmers who provide grass-fed, free-range produce, to developing relationships with local buyers and abbatoirs. As a result, we have complete control over the quality of our fresh produce.
Our product integrity is not a response to trends or competition, but rather a fundamental belief. We believe that it is essential to produce high-quality goods with exceptional flavour. To achieve this, we invest a significant amount of time in product development to ensure that every ingredient is accounted for. This enables us to offer gluten-free and preservative-free options that are tailored to your needs while allowing the natural flavours to shine.
We also offer an array of complementary flavours, including meat rubs from Tasmanian natives and locally sourced mustards, horseradish, and relishes, to bring your meal to life.
The Perry Family - A Key Part of the Story
Starting as a self-employed small business, the Perry family has played a significant role in the development of Casalinga Gourmet Meats. If you haven't met or heard of them, you will soon enough. All four Perry children have worked in the retail store at one point and are frequently seen interacting with our customers. As of now, they are pursuing their individual careers in diverse fields and have become the extended advisory network for the company's future endeavors.
